Facts: Domestic abuse is a huge problem in the world right now. One of every four women worldwide will experience domestic abuse. Domestic abuse isn’t only women. Yes, the women are the majority of who are getting abused at 85%, but men are out there getting domestically abused also. Every 15 seconds somebody in the United States is being abused by their partner. Which is actually crazy to put in perspective. It doesn't stop there. For women ages 15 to 44, domestic abuse is the leading cause of injury. That is beating out car accidents, rapes, and mugging combined. Police have reported that 40% to 60% of emergency calls are domestic abuse disputes, especially during the night shift. What comes with domestic abuse is battery. The crime of battery is the act of threatening them and then actually going through with it. The scary thing with that is 25%-40% of women that are battered are pregnant. Meaning these husbands aren't only hurting the woman, but their own kid. That is the crazy part in domestic abuse.
Opinions: My opinions on domestic abuse would be the same as anybody else; I would hope. It is a huge problem from just looking at some of those facts. The facts don’t just stop there either. They just keep adding up and really can scare you. How can somebody do such a thing especially to a pregnant women with those facts about them. They are legitly hurting two of their own family members which the husband should love so much. A huge thing with domestic abuse is that I think a lot of victims hide it. They don’t like to reach out for help because they are scared to get hurt even more. Which is a terrible position to be in. At the end of the day, I believe the victims have to speak out, because there is help out there and they need it. No one deserves to be abused from their partner, or anybody in general. It is a huge problem worldwide and people should take it more seriously. That is why I wanted to do this topic, because it should be heard. The facts are heartbreaking and they need to be heard. That is what my Photographs bring to you, the cold truth. It needs to be said and heard, no matter who you are. Me and photographs full on support the idea of awareness. If you see something different, make sure you speak up on it. Describe: In my four separate photographs action is being shown in all of them. Not only they are showing action but also having no color. The first photograph showing motion blur with the cars being blurred out. The next one has stop action with Marcus doing a pull up on a bridge. Then there is a fake motion blur with Marcus walking away. Then the last one showing panning with the focus on the car but the background being blurry.
Analyze: All of the photographs show the principle of movement. They all show movement because as you look at the photo, your eyes move throughout the photo. Movement is going on in all the photos. Interpet: The photos really give a urban feel. As you look at them in black and white, you feel you’re in the city with the photos. The urban feels come from the highways, fast cars, lights, and bridges. The photos take you there. Evaluate: This piece of art is successful. It can have many meanings to the viewer which makes it a good piece of art. It puts you in the urban feel, and you can just feel the movement in all the photos. They all come together as one which really works well. Describe: My first photograph shows my brother with sunglasses on, laying on the ground. The photograph is initially all black and white except the sunglasses. The sunglasses have color to them and also have a reflection of clouds in the glasses. The photograph is cropped with only showing his head to give more attention on the sunglasses and reflection. Analyze: The photograph has a very noticeable emphasis for its principle. The viewers eyes go straight to the sunglasses with its color and reflection, creating a great emphasis. The black and white surrounding in the photo also emphasizes the sunglasses. Interpret: The photo gives a very relaxed feeling. You look at the photo and you can almost just feel the California vibes, laying in the sun with glasses, relaxing, and having a good life. It gives the viewer a warm feel even if it's freezing like this in Minnesota. Evaluation: Yes, I believe this is a successful piece of art. It shows character and can give of a mood that is so satisfying. You just want to have a good life after seeing it. Something that could've been done to make the photo better would be lose the dark object in the left lense, and have more clouds. The object in the left lense isn't quite needed so it could be taken out. Describe: My second photograph consists of a fence in the woods with snow on the ground. The photo has a consistent blue feel from the snow and white fence. The fence is also giving a shadow onto the snow from the bright sun. Analyze: The photograph has balance because you look at the fence and the shadow which balances out the photograph and creates you too want to look at the full picture with them working together. Interpret: The photo really gives a cold and chill mood. Looking at the snow and shadow really makes me feel that way. The overall color of the photo also gives you that chill feel, knowing that it's peaceful and light. Evaluation: The piece of art is successful. It has the sense of balance which makes you want to look at the photo longer and learn the meaning. The thing I would change about it would be having more of a smooth snow spot, then the shadow would be even more clear and would look more overall smoother. |
